I’ve been meaning to update my “100 did-you-knows” but that kind of information just changes too fast for me to keep up with it here, and you’d be bored by it anyway.

Instead, I want to share a smattering of the websites I visit on a regular basis – not daily, as the title implies – but weekly or monthly, which is fairly regular for me.

So the radio stations here are rather lacking. The local version of an “NPR station” means reciting the latest crop prices through the last half of Morning Edition, since – hey – it’s not like we’ll ever get that movie Kenneth Turan is reviewing anyway. Granted, we have a couple indy gems where you can hear draft-dodger songs on the 4th of July (yeah!), but their signals have a hard time competing with the big conglomerate stations. Lo and behold, the internet to the rescue. Public Radio Fan lets you search by “what’s on now” or by program (I can finally hear Selected Shorts again!) or even by your local stations, which I do try to choose over, say, WNYC. This is actually one of my dailies.

I visit this site for the pictures especially, but also to read about her ideas. I even ended up ordering a nifty lunch box for both my girlfriend and myself – it really does encourage us to make lunches with better variety, believe it or not. For even more pictures and ideas with this whole lunchbox idea, check out these pictures from folks all over the place, vegan and omni. And if vegan is your thing, the original lunchbox lady has her own book out now! I can’t wait to get one! Oh yeah… payday.
